Video Mistoffelees

Jacob played Mistoffelees/Quaxo on Broadway from 1996-1999, in the video and in The West End cast 2001.

Mistoffelees is a shy, young magical cat. Mistoffelees was a big part of the musical because of his magical powers. In the ALW Productions of CATS Mistoffelees saves the leader of the Jellicles and preforms many mistical tricks along the way. Mistoffelees has become a big favoriate of CATS fans, so it is not surprising that Jacob Brent was chosen to protray him. He is quiet and secretive at the same time as being seen as loving and kind, much like Jake. Mistoffelees is also admired by the rest of cats. The Rum Tum Tugger sings of his magical powers while the chorus is echoed by the rest of the cast. Misto is a cute young cat with black fur and a little black bow tie. The role is a bit of a hard one to play because of the nature of the dancing. Jacob does numerous toe touches and vigerous dance routines. Jake does a wonderful job with the role. He brings Misto to life and really nails all the dancing moves. Infact, in almost all of the dance shots in the video there is Misto dancing beautifly.

In the 1993 Las Vegas production of Starlight Express, Jacob Brent played Turnov.

Starlight Express is a show about a little boy's dream of trains. The set for Starlight is a huge roller skating track with tons of bright lights and lots of interesting sights. All the actors have a complicated matter at hand, they have to dance, sing, act and skate all at the same time.

Turnov, the character Jake played in '93 is a Russian Train. His costume is usually red and white. It was one of Jake's first roles so he wasn't the main character, but he was still in the show. He sang and danced with the company and skated around as the Trans-Siberian Express.

In 1994 Jake played Pouncival in CATS

After Starlight, Jake went on to play Pouncival untill 1996. Pouncival is a tan and brown kitten. Pounvial is a highly active, playful, and acrobatic cat. Which is most likely why Jake was chosen to play him. Pouncivals role is labor intesive. He is always tumbeling and jumping around, unlike the role of Misto who is mostly seen preforming ballet moves. However Pouncival only sings with the chorous.
